Book Haul [7]

Happy Saturday Everyone!  Here is my very first vlog -- hopefully I don't sound like a total dork =P  The sound seemed to speed a couple of times, and I can't figure out why (this webcam thing is all new to me!) but hopefully it's still understandable.

I wanted to do this vlog to share with you all of the books that I received over the holidays, both from my wonderful family and the Library Santa, who was equally good to me.  And, if you watch until the very end, I'll show you my baby bump -- which is feeling HUGE these days!  Only six-ish weeks to go until we get to meet Baby, and hopefully I'll have a chance to read some of these books before Baby arrives!

Please leave me a link to your book haul / stacking the shelves post and I'll be sure to stop by.  Also, I'll include a list of titles, as well as links to Goodreads below the video.

  2. Lovely, Dark and Deep is so close to being next on my list. I saw Amy read a few weeks ago, and whoa, I was really impressed and I was lucky enough to score a copy for five bucks at a local bookstore! So glad your hubs got that one.

Looks like you have a lot of reading to do! Omygosh, your library has no Jen Echols books?? That's so sad. Your SIL picked some good ones. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on those. I do love Jen, and those are two of my favorites.

So cute seeing you in person! You did so well, I don't think you are nervous at all! Now I'm awaiting the baby bump...

    hehe SO cute! xoxoxo

    1. Thanks Estelle -- you're so sweet! Now, if only I could figure out the weird audio/video lagging glitch *sigh*

I'm excited to hear your thoughts on Lovely, Dark and Deep and I will for sure let you know what I think of Jennifer Echols -- SO excited to dive into her work!

And thanks for the compliments on the bump ... feeling pretty huge these days, but the end is drawing near! xoxo

  3. OMG! You had such an amazing haul... so many great library books. I also haven't read any books by Jennifer Echols... but there are rave reviews for her all over the place. I'm so happy you liked everything :)

I hope you do more vlogs! Kudo's to you because I'm a big chicken, lol. You didn't sound silly at all! Your baby bump is so cute!!!

Have a good weekend & Happy Reading!!

    1. Thanks Lauren! You should totally do a vlog too! It took a few takes, mainly because my cat decided that he wanted to sit on the keyboard and watch, but he finally went to take a nap and I was able to finish it successfully =)

    1. Well, I cheated a little and gave hubby my wishlist -- but he did pick some good books off the list though! I can't wait to read Lost Girl; you're one of many, many people to say that it was a favourite this year!

  9. Great haul, especially from the library - I always have such a hard time finding good YA at our library.

    1. Thanks for stopping by and for the compliment! I was super nervous about doing the vlog, but I'm glad that it turned out well (aside for my audio/video syncing issues, but I'm working on it). Luckily for me, my library is part of a larger library network that's comprised of 22 branches, so I have a wide variety of books to choose from =)

  11. Awesome book haul and you did such a good job on your first vlog, I LOVED it!! I really want to read My Life Next Door, since I also really like those fun contemporary books, and OMGosh The Luxe series by Anna Godbersen is my ALL-TIME FAVE!! Haha I have to read them again sometime :)

    1. Aww, thank you so much Lea! I'm excited to get back to the Luxe series. I was really enjoying it, and not too sure why I stopped reading (probably got distracted by other new releases!) I really appreciate you stopping by =)

  12. Aww you're not a dork at all! (Sorry, I'm so late to post because my laptop's speakers no longer work and I've been too lazy to track down headphones lol). I always cringe when I hear my own voice (like on an answering machine) so I don't think I'd ever have the courage to do a vlog!

I love the cover of Lovely, Dark and Deep too - so beautiful! Also, I love your bookshelves! I want to see more! And what a cute bump :) 6 weeks is gonna be here before you know it!

    1. Aww, thanks Brie! Yeah, my voice usually goes all high-pitched like a small child, but it didn't as much this time (phew!) We'll just have to meet in real life one day, so you won't have to vlog =)

I should do a bookshelf tour at some point too ... perhaps after I do a little more organizing. I have a tendency to just cram new books wherever they'll fit, and I need to reorganize and alphabetize a little.

  13. Yayayyyyayay for Jellicoe Road! And if you haven't gotten to Finnikin yet, I'm hosting a read-along of it in February. Would love to have you joined if you haven't (or even if you have) read this one!

    1. I just started Jellicoe Road last night, since it's in paperback and easy for me to hold =) I have to admit that I'm a little confused already, but I'm going to persevere since you, and so many of my other favourite bloggers, have loved the book. I may join in with your read-along in February, as soon as I have feeling back in my fingers, since Finnikin's a hardcover =(
